Indigo Healthcare are interested in seeing CVs of any doctors looking for opportunities at Consultant Level to join the expanding Anaesthesia team at the Walsall healthcare NHS Trust.

Fixed Term/Substantive Position

Salary:

£84,559 to £114,003 for 10PA’s (with the option to discuss an extra 2PA’s)

Job Overview:

The post holder will work in collaboration with the General Anaesthetic team to provide a high quality, progressive and professional anaesthetic service to a broad range of specialties including obstetrics. There are opportunities to develop special interests in Obstetric Anaesthesia and simulation training. This post is offered at 10 PAs per week with two additional PAs per week negotiable following review.

This fantastic opportunity has arisen due to a £1.64M expansion of the Theatres & Anaesthetics Dept at the Trust. The investment is one of a wider suite of investments, including:

  • £3,000,000 investment to refurbish the West Wing Theatre Suite, due for completion in 2022.
  • £687,000 investment in 31 AISYS CS2 Anaesthetic Machines.
  • £300,000 investment in 28 BeneVision N17 Monitors.

The trust is also able to offer an attraction package which compromises of an expenses policy, and increase in education costs payment for RCoA registration and further funding for training and courses.

Location:

Walsall is a market town and administrative centre in West Midlands County, England. Historically part of Staffordshire, it is located 9 miles (14 km) north-west of Birmingham, 7 miles (11 km) east of Wolverhampton and 9 miles (14 km) from Lichfield.

Walsall is the administrative centre of the wider Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. At the 2011 census, the town's built-up area had a population of 67,594, with the wider borough having a population of 269,323. Neighbouring settlements in the borough include Darlaston, Brownhills, Pelsall, Willenhall, Bloxwich and Aldridge.

The 21st century has also seen several housing regenerations projects in the most deprived areas. Many of the town's 1960s tower blocks have been demolished, as well as interwar council housing in parts of Blakenall Heath and Harden, along with all the Goscote estate. New private and social housing has been built on the site of most of the demolished properties.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • GMC registration with a license to practice
  • A wide range of anaesthesia experience.
  • FRCA or equivalent.
  • Experience of conducting clinical audit.
  • Previous UK NHS hospital experience.
  • CCT Or within six months of this.
