10 Programmed activities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Haematology Speciality Doctor to join our team as we develop a collaborative Haematology service in conjunction with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, covering the populations of Blackpool and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts.

Applications are invited for the post of Speciality Doctor Haematology to join our teams in delivering Tertiary and Secondary Care Haematology Services to a population of over 700,000. Blackpool Teaching Hospitals (BTH) is the designated centre for the intensive treatment of acute leukaemia and autologous stem cell transplantation for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Network, serving a population of 1.6 million people.

This is a Full Time post providing 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), however, applicants wishing to work part-time are also encouraged to apply and job plans will be adjusted accordingly, and by negotiation with appointees.

The post holder will be employed by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; however, the post holder will be expected to provide services across both hospital sites with the initial placement being at Preston as demonstrated on the indicative job plan.

The successful applicant will be expected to have significant experience in haematology and be registered and licensed with the General Medical Council.
